Description

The Guffert GTX MFS is ideal for demanding hikes and intensive mountain hikes. The walking shoe falls under the category B/C walking shoes. These shoes have a higher shaft and a stiffer sole than category B walking shoes. The Guffert GTX MFS is therefore ideal when you make more demanding mountain tours during your holiday, explore rugged landscapes or take long walks with a heavy backpack.

The outer material of the shoe is made of oiled nubuck leather. The shoe has a Gore-Tex inner lining, which ensures that the shoe is waterproof. The Vibram outsole provides good grip on different surfaces.

Material

Oiled nubuck leather

The outer material of the Guffert GTX MFS is made of oiled nubuck leather. Nubuck leather comes from the lightly sanded top layer of the animal skin. Sanding makes the leather feel softer, increases breathability and gives the leather a velvety appearance. By oiling the nubuck leather, it remains beautiful and water-repellent for longer.

GORE-TEX ®

The Guffert GTX MFS contains a GORE-TEX ® membrane. The GORE-TEX ® membrane ensures that these hiking boots are waterproof, yet breathable. This keeps your feet dry while walking.

MFS

The Guffert GTX MFS contains the Memory Foam System (MFS) developed by Meindl. This MFS is a kind of foam layer that is processed around the ankle part of the shoe. This gives the ankle extra support. Under the influence of body temperature, the MFS adapts completely to the shape of the foot. This ensures that the Guffert GTX MFS adapts completely to the shape of your feet.

wide last

The Guffert GTX MFS has a wide last. The wide last is suitable for people for whom the standard fit is too narrow in the front. The wide last has a normal width on the heel side, but is slightly wider on the forefoot side. This prevents annoying pressure points from developing in walkers with wider feet.

The Guffert GTX MFS has a removable insole from Meindl. This insole contributes to extra walking comfort and is also available separately. We also sell custom insoles that provide extra support.

Outsole

Like many hiking boots, the Guffert GTX MFS a VIBRAM ® outsole. Vibram soles are known for their high quality and durability and are therefore often used in hiking boots. These soles ensure a good transition of the foot. The profile of the sole has been developed in such a way that it provides good grip on different surfaces. In addition, the profile of the sole is self-cleaning. This means that the sole does not retain sludge and soil. Because Vibram soles are wear-resistant, they last longer than other soles.

If the sole of your hiking boots is worn, they need to be replaced. Worn soles are a risk when walking. Because the profile of the sole disappears, the grip decreases and you slip faster. It’s just difficult to say goodbye to walking shoes that fit perfectly and with which beautiful trips have been made. Especially if you have always maintained your shoes well, the upper material of the shoe will last longer than the sole.
