The Bangri Lady from Hanwag is ideal for long walks. From walks in the woods to light hikes in the mountains, this hiking boot is a true all-rounder. The Bangri Lady falls under the category A/B walking shoes. These shoes are slightly more flexible than category B walking shoes and somewhat firmer than category A walking shoes. Especially when you walk longer, but don’t want to wear too heavy shoes, the Bangri Lady is an ideal option.

The outer material of this shoe is made of yak leather and has a lining of chrome-free leather. The sole of this walking shoe is a Vibram Endurance Pro sole. This sole provides optimal grip while walking. In addition, this sole has a flex zone at the heel, which optimizes the fit of the shoe.

Yak leather

The outer material of the Bangri Lady is made of robust Tibertan yak leather. The yak is a species of cattle that has been exposed to the harsh climate of the Tibetan plateaus all its life. The animal lives more than 4000 meters above sea level, where the oxygen content at this height is about 40% lower than at sea level. The temperature can drop to -40 °C. Thanks to its compact skin, the yak can withstand these extreme conditions. Yak leather is therefore an extra strong and durable type of leather.

Chrome-free leather

The lining of the Bangri Lady is made of chrome-free leather. Leather is often tanned using chromium-containing minerals. People who are sensitive to chromium can suffer from allergic contact eczema when they come into contact with this leather. Chrome-free leather is tanned without the use of chromium-containing minerals. Hikers with an allergy to chromium will therefore not suffer from contact dermatitis when wearing the Bangri Lady .

Insole

The Bangri Lady has a standard insole from Hanwag. This is a quick-drying, removable insole that contributes to extra comfort while walking. The Hanwag standard insole is also available separately in our store and on our website . We also sell custom insoles that provide extra support.

Like many hiking boots, the Bangri Lady has a VIBRAM ® outsole. Vibram soles are known for their high quality and durability and are therefore often used in hiking boots. These soles ensure a good settlement of the foot. The profile of the sole has been developed in such a way that it provides good grip on different surfaces. In addition, the profile of the sole is self-cleaning. This means that the sole does not retain mud and soil. Because Vibram soles are durable, they last longer than other soles.
