Materials
Recycled polyester
Polyester is a synthetic material made from petroleum. It is a durable, smooth fabric that feels soft. In addition, it is lightweight, does not need to be ironed and dries quickly. Unfortunately, polyester is not biodegradable, but it is recyclable. If the product is used and maintained properly, it will last longer, making the product sustainable in the long term. This makes recycled polyester a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative.
Elastane
Elastane is a synthetic fiber that is exceptionally elastic. Its great stretch, but at the same time its strength, distinguishes it from other synthetic fabrics. For example, it is stronger and more durable than rubber, but also much lighter. Elastane is very lightweight and is therefore very suitable when doing activities. Elastane also offers a lot of room to move because it is so elastic, without losing the fit.
Technologies
PFC free/Eco Finish
The North face W Apex Insulated Etip Glove is produced without the use of environmentally polluting fluorocarbons (PFCs). The use of PFCs in textile finishing ensures that clothing becomes water, dirt and grease repellent. These gloves use an alternative finish without the use of PFCs. This makes the product water and dirt repellent. However, an oil-repellent effect cannot currently be achieved with a PFC-free finish.
