water column
The water-repellent capacity of clothing is often described in the form of millimeters of water column. The water column says something about the amount of water pressure a substance can have per square centimeter before it starts to leak. This jacket has a water column of 20,000 mm. Material
Polyamide, also known as nylon, is a synthetic material made from petroleum. Polyamide is a strong fabric that does not tear and crease easily. It is light, elastic, easy to fold and dries quickly. A disadvantage of polyamide is that it does not absorb moisture well. In addition, like many other materials, polyamide is harmful to the environment. It is not biodegradable and contributes to the plastic soup in the ocean. However, polyamide can be recycled very well. The use of recycled polyamide reduces both waste and the dependence on petroleum as a source. Recycled polyamide is therefore a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative.
