The GTX® membrane not only ensures that the shoe is completely waterproof, but also that it continues to ventilate well. Water from the outside is stopped by the membrane, perspiration is transported from the inside to the outside. It is important to wear the right (hiking) socks here. Look for more information:

Meindl has included the Meindl Vakuum Lady Sento GTX in the category MFS Vakuum GTX®.
MFS Vacuum GTX®
The MFS Vakuum GTX offers great comfort, is stable and safe. The shoe has a particularly soft inside and special foam throughout the shoe. Because the shoe has no seams at the heel, it has a lot of space there.
- MFS Vakuum® foam. As a result, the shoe fits exactly and does not exert any pressure on any foot shape. Not in the ankle, but not in the cuff either. The foam even reaches to the toe. The foot is snug yet softly enclosed.
- Features a seamlessly constructed GORE-TEX ® liner on the heel
Good maintenance for these shoes
It is advisable to impregnate your hiking boots with a water-repellent spray suitable for shoes with a membrane before using them for the first time. When purchasing a pair of hiking boots at our store, we do this the first time.
The nubuck leather of this Meindl Vakuum Lady Sento GTX® women’s hiking shoe can be nourished with a conditioner or wax. Over time, when using a waxed agent, the leather will look like smooth leather. Brushing with a nubuck brush restores the nubuck structure of the leather.
Cleaning the hiking boots
First clean your shoes with a soft brush or lukewarm water and then let them air dry. A heater or hair dryer is strongly discouraged! Also rinse the inside of your shoes once in a while. This way you remove the salt crystals from perspiration and the membrane will retain its breathable properties. Air drying is also recommended after this. If necessary, fill with kitchen paper or newspaper to aid the drying process. Always follow the instructions of your chosen maintenance product carefully.
