Hestra is a Swedish company specialized in glove manufacturing. They are known worldwide for their high quality products. With Hestra gloves you will not easily suffer from cold hands.
History
Over 80 years ago, Martin Magnusson founded a company on a farm where he started making gloves for local lumberjacks. Since it was founded in 1936, the popularity of the Hestra brand has grown thanks to the high quality of the gloves. Today the family business is run by the 3rd and 4th generations of the Magnusson family. The design and development of the gloves is still done at the headquarters in the village of Hestra.
Production
Hestra’s gloves are made in their own factories. Because the wool, leather and all other materials are purchased by Hestra itself, they have full control over the entire production process. A number of models are handmade by the most experienced glove makers in Europe.
Glove size
Hestra gloves are made in different sizes. To find the right glove size, measure the circumference of the palm. Via the link below you can find which size fits your palm circumference.

Maintenance
The best way to treat a Hestra glove depends on the model. There are some general facts that apply to all gloves.
General facts
Dyed leather can cause clothing to discolour when wet. Avoid prolonged contact between wet leather and other fabrics to prevent stains. You do not run this risk with gloves made of natural leather.
Avoid silicone impregnation. This can cause the pores of GORE-TEX to close, reducing breathability.
Regular handling of leather gloves prevents the leather from drying out and extends the life of the gloves. The Hestra leather balm can be used to treat cow or goat leather gloves. First dampen the leather a little. After that, use a cleaning cloth to rub the leather balm into the leather. Rub until the leather is saturated. It is better not to treat gloves made of a different type of leather than previously mentioned with the leather balm.
Please note: by treating the leather with Hestra leather balm, the gloves may become slightly darker in color.
Washing and drying
Let the gloves dry at room temperature. Avoid drying on the heater, in front of the fireplace or in the dryer.
The gloves dry best when you put them upright or hang them.
Do not turn the gloves inside out to dry. It can be difficult to turn the glove back on.
Gloves with a removable liner dry faster when the liner is removed. The lining can then be washed separately. A wool lining should be hand washed and dried on a flat surface.
Not all gloves can be machine washed. Models that do not consist of several layers can be washed at a low temperature (40°C or lower). Gloves that cannot be washed in the washing machine can be cleaned with lukewarm water and soap. It is important to rinse the gloves well and not to wring them out. It is not recommended to wash the gloves frequently.
