The Hanwag Tatra II Wide GTX is ideal for demanding trekking tours and mountain walks. The walking shoe falls under the category B/C walking shoes. These shoes have a higher shaft and a stiffer sole than category B walking shoes. The Tatra II is therefore ideal when you make more difficult mountain trips during your holiday, visit rugged landscapes or take long walks with a heavy backpack.
The hiking shoe is made of nubuck leather and has a GORE-TEX lining. This membrane ensures that the shoe is 100% waterproof. The insole of the mountain shoe is removable and the outsole of the shoe is a Vibram AW Integral sole. This sole provides optimal grip during hiking or mountain climbing.
Product Features
Nubuck leather
The outer material of this walking shoe is made of nubuck leather. Nubuck leather comes from the lightly sanded top layer of the animal hide. Sanding makes the leather feel softer, increases breathability and gives the leather a velvety appearance. Nubuck leather can be waxed, but it can also be left untreated. If you wax nubuck leather, it will become darker, smoother and shinier. When you spray nubuck leather with a spray containing wax, you treat this material in the best way.
GORE -TEX®
The Tatra II contains a GORE-TEX ® membrane. The GORE-TEX ® membrane ensures that THESE WALKING BOOTS are waterproof, but breathable. This keeps your feet dry while walking.
fit
Wide reads
This walking shoe has a wide last. The wide last is suitable for people for whom the standard fit in the front is too narrow. The wide last has a normal width on the heel side, but is slightly wider on the forefoot side. This prevents annoying pressure points from developing for walkers with wider feet.
Insole
The walking shoe has a standard insole from Hanwag. This is a quick-drying, removable insole that contributes to extra comfort while walking. The Hanwag standard insole is also available separately in our store and on our website . We also sell custom insoles that provide extra support.
outsole
Vibram AW Integral
Like many other hiking boots, this hiking shoe also has a VIBRAM ® outsole. Vibram soles are known for their high quality and durability and are therefore often used in hiking boots. These soles ensure a good settlement of the foot. The profile of the sole has been developed in such a way that it provides good grip on different surfaces. In addition, the profile of the sole is self-cleaning. This means that the sole does not retain mud and soil. Because Vibram soles are durable, they last longer than other soles. This Vibram AW Integral sole is very sturdy due to stiffening in the midsole. In addition, it is well supportive. The profile of the shoes is stretched with angled studs for support on both ascent and descent.
