The FjällRäven Una Jacket is made of G-1000 Silent material. This is a soft and noiseless fabric. Due to the brushed finish, the fabric is slightly less strong, but it ensures that the garment does not rustle. This makes it ideal for wearing during an evening walk in the woods or wildlife management work. Furthermore, the jacket is suitable for daily use. The storage space in the jacket is quite limited, the jacket has two side pockets with zipper.
G-1000 material
G-1000 is a fabric developed by FjällRäven itself. It’s a classic that allows you to brave different activities and climates all year round, from the tropics to the polar regions. The fabric consists of 65% polyester and 35% cotton that are woven closely together. This fabric was then treated with Greenland Wax. This combination makes G-1000 a popular outdoor fabric and has a number of practical properties:
- Durable: G-1000 fabric from FjällRäven is very durable and therefore long-lasting. In addition, it is lightweight.
- Water repellent: Thanks to the Greenland Wax, clothing with G-1000 can withstand short rain showers or moisture. In addition, it is quick-drying.
- Windproof: FjällRäven clothing with G-1000 is almost completely windproof. If you impregnate it with Greenland Wax, you are completely protected against wind.
- Breathability: An important property of G-1000 is high breathability. This means that your body stays nice and dry, even during strenuous activities.
- UV protection: Thanks to G-1000 you are almost completely protected from the sun’s rays, reducing the risk of burns.
- Mosquito-Proof: The tightly woven fabrics keep mosquitoes and other flying insects away. Ideal if you are in the mountains, the forest or in a warm climate. Note: G-1000 Lite is not mosquito proof.

Hydratic
Hydratic garments are windproof, waterproof and breathable. It wicks away perspiration while protecting you from rain, moisture or wind.
- Waterproof: A garment can be more waterproof than another garment and this is measured in mm of water column. The higher the water column, the more pressure a garment can handle. Hydratic garments withstand 10,000 – 20,000mm, guaranteeing you will stay dry during heavy long rain showers, while sitting or on your knees.
- Windproof: Cold, gusty winds can lower your body temperature. This is the chill you then feel. To counteract the risk of cooling in areas with cold climates or at high altitudes, Hydratic offers protection.
- Breathable (ventilating): All Hydratic garments allow as much body heat to escape as possible. There are several practical features to make it do that, such as underarm vents, mesh pockets and a chimney collar.
