Materials
Recycled polyester
Polyester is a synthetic material made from petroleum. It is a durable, smooth fabric that feels soft. In addition, it is lightweight, does not need to be ironed and dries quickly. Unfortunately, polyester is not biodegradable, but it is recyclable. If the product is used and maintained properly, it will last longer, making the product sustainable in the long term. This makes recycled polyester a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative.
Bamboo viscose
Bamboo viscose is a fiber made from bamboo. Fewer pesticides are used than in cotton production, making it a good alternative.
Technologies
FUTURE DYE
FUTURE DYE – a new dyeing process in textile processing – makes dyeing more sustainable .
Traditionally, either the already spun yarn or even the finished woven fabric is dyed using a lot of water and chemicals. The yarn or fabric is soaked in containers with a mixture of water, dye and chemicals (to fix the dye to the fibers) and later also rinsed using water.
With FUTURE DYE, colored granules are added to the plastic granules and a colored fiber is produced.
That saves 50-70% water , 70-80% chemicals and energy . The result is a completely dyed yarn – UV stable and colourfast .
